Supported by $113,302 in Federal Government funding the reserve now features a new playground, shaded bench seating, additional plants and a drink fountain.
Federal Member for Stirling Michael Keenan said he was pleased to support such an important community project.
“Local parks and reserves improve our physical and psychological health, strengthen our communities, and make our neighbourhoods a more attractive place to live and work,” Mr Keenan said.
“This committed funding has helped to provide a safe and interactive space for Stirling residents to bring their children to play, walk their dogs or to simply sit and enjoy the aesthetic of the reserve.
“It’s a fantastic new space and I encourage all local residents to visit.”
City of Stirling Mayor, Cr Giovanni Italiano said the local community will benefit immensely from this new playground.
“The City would like to thank the Federal Government for the grant to upgrade this facility; it certainly has made a big improvement on what was previously there.”
Mr Keenan said the Federal Government is dedicated to building stronger communities across Australia.
“We understand that by investing in projects such as this one, we help grow a more vibrant and viable community.”
