Visiting local construction works on Lawley Street in Tuart Hill, Mr Keenan said it is fantastic news for Stirling residents and businesses.
“Tuart Hill residents can expect to see nbn contractors boring and digging trenches, installing new pits, splicing and testing fibre cables and copper jointing in their local neighbourhoods over coming weeks,” Mr Keenan said.
“Initial works have already begun to construct fixed line technology to 4,000 premises in parts of Tuart Hill which means fast and reliable broadband is just around the corner for these local residents.
“Over the coming months construction will continue to connect a further 27,000 premises in parts of Balcatta, Balga, Nollamara, Stirling, Westminster and Yokine.
“The continued rollout will ensure families are able to be online at the same time, using multiple devices and enjoying the same fast speeds.
“For Stirling businesses, whether it’s sending or receiving files, accessing online services or communication with staff and customers, all aspects are expected to be faster and more efficient.
“The Coalition Government is committed to completing the network and ensuring all Australians have access to fast broadband as soon as possible, at affordable prices, and at least cost to taxpayers,” Mr Keenan said.
The nbn is expected to start offering active services to the region from early next year. For information on the nbn™ rollout in your local area please visit http://www.nbnco.com.au/maps.
