Federal Member for Stirling Michael Keenan congratulated students as he visited schools in the electorate this week.
Mr Keenan said there was an outstanding number of artwork presented this year and it was hard to pick a winner.
“Each year I coordinate a Christmas card competition in schools celebrating Christmas in Stirling,” Mr Keenan said.
“Students can draw or paint a piece of artwork on what the holiday season means to them and this year we had so many great designs of Santa surfing at Trigg Beach, Kangaroos delivering presents to the Scarborough foreshore and we had a beautiful drawing created by Bronte Pittaway (Deanmore Primary Year 4) of the clock tower in Scarborough.
“Stirling students are incredibly talented and I’m so pleased to see so many schools taking part this year.”
Participants from each school were presented with their own Christmas card made from the designs they had drawn.
The four winning students from Tuart Hill Primary and Deanmore Primary will have their artwork printed onto the Federal Member’s Christmas cards which are delivered to Stirling organisations as well as Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Premier Colin Barnett. The schools will also each receive a book prize as an award.
“I would like to thank all schools for participating this year and wish students and their families a very safe and happy holiday season.”
